One of my favorite parts of giving hypnotherapy is when, after a session, many of my clients claim that they have never felt so relaxed.
They get to experience their body in its natural state, with their nervous system completely regulated in the parasympathetic state.The emotional aspect to this is experiencing what it truly means to feel safe or in control, perhaps for the first time.
Recently, a client shared that hypnosis puts her in a deeper state of relaxation then acupuncture, and that since starting her sessions with me, she no longer needs acupuncture. This is because the release she feels is a combination of relaxation provided by the hypnotic state, along with the therapeutic work we do to release emotions (stored in her body).
Hypnosis, on its own, is a regulatory and beneficial experience for the health of the body and mind. When combined with therapeutic work on specific issues, transformation does occur.
This happens, because the critical and analytical part of our mind decreases in activity, allowing us to experience a nonjudgmental, safe, available space within the mind and body to feel, heal, and release our emotions and thoughts.
